Thousands rally in Tahrir square against military rule
- Jareen, CNN iReport producer
Hundreds of thousands of Egyptians gathered in Tahrir square on what they called Friday of determination to protest against military rule and against writing the constitution under the military rule. Members of the Supreme council of Armed Forces had announced earlier that the constitution will be written before the presidential elections and before the transfer of power to civilian rule. This has raised concerns that the military wants to interfere in the writing of the constitution and also raised concerns that the presidential election could be postponed due to the fact that it's difficult to write the constitution in that short period before the presidential election. Protesters stressed that they will not tolerate any changes in the date of the presidential election.
