    Dick Clark and I on the phone

    It was 1969 and I was with the band Mercy. Dick Clark had me on the phone as his audience on American Bandstand was rating our song "Love Can Make You Happy". Dick Clark told me, "the kids love your song!" The rest is now music history. Mercy went on to make the Billboard Top 10 second only to The Beatles' "Get Back." I will always be thankful for the push Mr. Clark gave my career. I'm using my early70s recording "Remember Those Sweet Yesterdays" which has been downloaded as a special tribute to Dick Clark who sweetened all of our yesterdays through music.
