Dogwood means Celebration in Atlanta, Ga. !
To be sure, there are so many different kinds of trees that populate here in the deep south. Some of the most magnificent timber of the nation.
Yet only the Dogwood Trees are held in such decree to have a festival about their blooms named in its honor here in Georgia.
For generations this tree has represented a new birth here in the south.
The tree's blooms makes anyone take notice of its beauty, no matter how dull you are about -treeology ? This tree makes the locals smile, of the hope and promise of a new season called Springtime.
Atlanta Dogwood Festival is celebrating its 76th year festival. The three day event is well known as the pre-Memorial Day event, that is, during this time, the center of arts and crafts, family fond memories and couples new family beginnings.
Piedmont Park, in the center of downtown Atlanta, is the backdrop of countless fine arts exhibits, fine foods, with the pleasant music of a multitude of many types of music playing all around the park.
The Dogwood Festival is a family event, for family fun of all ages.
Chances are if you are an out of town guest who is visiting friends, or family, during this time of year, your host will make it a high point of your visit, in order to participate and relish the beauty of Atlanta's historic Spring blossoms in a park that is aligned with the most beautiful trees, affectionately known simply as 'Dogwood Trees'.
