Prices of Commodities in the Philippines are Being Affected by High Gas Prices
I interviewed some of my countrymen regarding the high process of petroleum products in the Philippines. This i-Report is about two workers that I’ve interviewed in San Pedro, Laguna last Thursday. I interviewed Myrna Concincino- a sore clerk from Pacita, San Pedro, Laguna. She complained that prices of basic commodities have increased due to high gas prices. Her electric bill has also increased. I also interviewed Robert Ong- a salesman. He’s trying hard to cope with the rising costs of living in the town of San Pedro. Laguna. Both Myrna and Robert are in favor of wage-increase that workers from all over the country are now demanding. They are also in agreement with the demand of small entrepreneurs in the country for lower interest rates, so that ordinary Filipinos can easily put up small businesses of their own. Both Myrna and Robert have become ‘active bikers’. They’re now actively using their bicycles to save money. Many Filipinos have become “active bikers” to save money and promote environmentalism.
