From garden to table |
My bucket garden
Now I'm in college and have my own apartment. I've tried a city community garden plot, but there were too many bugs, deer, and very weeded soil. Did not produce enough. So this year, I've tried a bucket garden. I bought Firehouse Pickle Buckets, for $2 which help their charity and it saves me some money. I drilled holes around bottom about 2" off the ground, so the soil can drain properly. I've planted peppers, tomatoes, a herb bucket, and I'm trying to raise some yellow onions. Going to plant some Thai Eggplant from seeds. Most of the materials I used for my garden come from local garden supply stores. Small business and always helpful. Also bought some unique varieties from The University of Alabama's Arboretum.
