National Gas Prices - A Snapshot - April 23
It's Monday, which means it is time for another look at how people are paying at the pump for gasoline across the US of A. In our weekly National Snapshot, we look at a select city in all 50 states as well as the District of Columbia.
I reported over the weekend, Gas Prices Going Down? I noted at that time that there was a late analysis stating that prices overall for the nation had dropped by around a nickel nationwide since hitting a high hovering around $4 per gallon. It would be prudent, I said, to see how the weekend would impact prices starting the week.
Also over the weekend there were reports from members of CNN's iReport community that cited right the opposite occuring in their locales. One report out of Vermont had prices up. Another report came out of western New York where gas was also up. In both cases the cost was well over $4 per gallon.
While checking gas prices across the country this week, I did find that prices had dropped by as much as 20 cents per gallon in some locations, many just by a few cents. Some locales saw no change. But there were some locations that saw an increase in cost. One location rose dramatically by over 20 cents per gallon.
To compare today's snapshot with last Monday's snapshot:
