    PHOENIX GAY PRIDE 2012

Phoenix Gay Pride had the VILLAGE PEOPLE on sunday, opening acts were CAZWELL & AMANDA LEPORE. It was 104 degrees but cooled down to a nice 80+ degrees around 8PM. Saturday I wasn't able to attend, so I can't report on that....anyway 1n10 had a tent with local talent, but the girls from TUCSON stole the show with the closing GOSPEL SUNDAY DRAG SHOW. D.BABE CAYLOR gave us poetry and Michael Weakley Executive Director of 1n10 had to feel cool as a cucumber under that nice tent with his staff & teenagers performing for a excited crowd. I got up and sung twice before I was sent to my seat in gest, the young man who sung after my short performance was excellent! The Queens of Tucson were showgirls, with flawless outfits and flawless make-up. Penny Smith spoke on film about LGBTQ violence for SPEAKOUT GEORGIA video campaign. Our own Barbra Seville was M.C for the main stage and did a awesome job. The vendors were nice and professional, Walgreens, Wells Fargo, Costco and SWEET JONEZ cupcakes and many more, this year was very nice and I'm sure with all that's happening in the world, from the election, Trayvon to Brandon White/SPEAKOUT Georgia, at least for one day, people were able to celebrate some freedom in the desert sun- MYCHAELTODD
