In a world ... with voice-over tributes |
Don LaFontaine VIDEO tribute
How heartbreaking it was to hear of one of our voiceover heroes, Don LaFontaine, passing away. He literally shaped a generation or two of voice talent with his vocal style. His voice had power, strength, comic twists and even subtle, quiet, moments when needed. As a voice talent myself, I grew up trying to get that deep growl in my voice and with more than 25 years in the business, it's a style that can almost be imitated, but never duplicated. Don had more than good "pipes" or a deep voice. He was able to use his voice as an instrument to create audio magic and from the interviews I've seen and the word in the business, he was a great guy. He will be missed by everyone in this industry and movie fans alike.
Tom Cassidy voiced the audio tribute and Jay Patrick produced the audio and video.
We'll miss you Don.
