    Earth Month


    Approximately 400 billion gallons of water are used in the United States per day.


    For Earth month Wyland (Artist of the Sea) created a friendly conservation competition between cities across the nation. drives to save energy, reduce landfill waste, and encourage overall resource conservation by reducing their "water footprint."

    A few water facts

    * Taking a bath requires up to 70 gallons of water. A five-minute shower uses only 10 to 25 gallons.


    * A running toilet can waste up to 200 gallons of water per day.


    * At 1 drip per second, a faucet can leak 3,000 gallons per year.
