Dagupeños Watch Citywide Dance Parade
- zdan, CNN iReport producer
The annual street dance depicting the harvest of milkfish or "gilon gilon ed dalan" in the local dialect, commenced on the 28th of April, 2012, where 31 street dancing troupes representing the barangays of Dagupan City performed their acts along the main thoroughfares of the city.
These dancers, clad in colorful costumes (some even made from indigenous materials), braved the heat of the sun as they danced and marched in celebration of the bountiful harvest of milkfish during the year.
The street dance is a part of the annual Bangus Festival celebration which started less than a decade ago partly to foster the tourism industry of the City.
