SEMANA SANTA 2011: IPANEMA BEACH, RIO DE JANEIRO BRAZIL
Last year, 2011, I had one of the most unforgettable trips of my life. I went to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and spent the entire Semana Santa there all by myself. For someone like me, who was born and raise in the Philippines, visiting Brazil for a week was completely a dream come true.
I stayed in Sol Ipanema hotel and had a perfect view of one of the most famous beach in the world which is none other than the “Ipanema Beach”. When I got to the hotel, I noticed a lot of people on the beach in front wearing their swimsuit. You might think that there is nothing special about seeing those people in their swimwear but then again, for someone from the Philippines, you rarely see a beach packed with people in their hot summer suit!
I checked-in, got my key, and went to my room. I opened the window and I was stuck for several seconds, looking at the long, gorgeous beach with probably thousands of red umbrella and of course, people enjoying the beach. I have never seen anything like it in my entire life. I couldn’t count the red umbrellas down there as well as the people walking and playing on the beach. I also admire the Brazilian people, both male and female, for having the confidence in wearing their swimsuit.
I am more than proud to witness the culture of Brazilian people in spending the Semana Santa with their love ones with smile on their faces. I never witness any commotion; only happiness, fun, and peace can be seen and felt within the surroundings!
I was so stoked to take pictures of everything that I was seeing that moment, and yes, I took a lot of amazing shots!
