    Fran Drescher running for Senate?

Not too long ago Fran Drescher was the Country's best dressed, loudest and probably the funniest Nanny. In the popular sitcom from the 90s, she played Fran Fine, a bridal consultant from Flushing Queens, who became the Sheffield's Nanny. The show aired from 1993 to 1999 and was one of the Country's most popular sitcoms.

In 2000 Drescher was diagnosed with uterine cancer. In 2002 she wrote her book “Cancer Schmancer.” After she went on her book tour she realized that a book is not enough, so she decided to start the “Cancer Schmancer Movement.”

The first time she wanted to run for the Senate was in 2008, when she wanted to replace (then) Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, who had been nominated for US Secretary of State.

In 2008 Drescher said,"I'm a New Yorker. It's a part of the fabric of my being. It just seems natural to me to throw my hat in the ring." In September 2008 she was appointed as a US diplomat (Public Diplomacy Envoy for Women's Health Issues).

Nowadays she still wants to run for a Seat in the Senate, because "you don't have to waste so much time trying to raise money you can actually do work." And because the Senate is “a smaller group, it is a hundred people so it's a little more manageable.”
