    May Day at New York

    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     PatrycjaNews captured this iReport on May, 01. She says the protesters in the May Day march started their protesting in New York City's Union Square. She says the atmosphere was peaceful and respectful, and protesters waited patiently for police to allow them to march to Broadway street. She says during the march she saw many signs of people highlighting issues such as education, healthcare and the economy that they wanted to address.

    May 1st- May Day Solidarity. OWS gathered at the Union Square,NY where the Rally took place. Representative from different organization welcomed everybody who came to the Union Square. There were groups like: Workers United, La Fuente,Community and Immigrant Justice Organizations, Families For Freedom, NYC Central Labor Council and more.
    Performers were singing and playing for the cheerful audience.
    The Rally took place from 4:00pm till 5:30pm when the protestants started march down Broadway Street to Wall Street. At Broadway stage they ended the rally.
    The march was rather peaceful. I witnessed one accident where a person in the window had a sign saying "Quit complaining". One of the protestants throw a rock at the guy. He than moved inside the apartment, showing first his middle finger to protesters and closing the window.
    The police marched along the sidewalks,keeping eye on the protesters and pedestrians.
