    Ilocos Norte: Historical City of the North

    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     BonbonAlegre, a software engineer and photographer, shot these photos on a summer vacation trip to Ilocos Norte last year. 'The pictures I have taken signify the beauty of the places, things and people in Ilocos Norte,' he said. They also portray 'the living historical places that are still intact until now, the culture of the people living there [and] how majestic the things that the Filipinos build and preserved there.'

    Almost a year ago, a couple of my officemates and I had a trip to one of the most ventured places in the Philippines, Ilocos Norte. This is also known as the birthplace of the former presidents Ferdinand Marcos and Elpidio Quirino.
    Ilocos is not only known for its beautiful places,churches and beaches, it is also known for the sumptous food and recipes that is unique there.
