    City smackdown: Los Angeles love

    LA is unlivable

I am responding to the NYC/LA debate. I lived in Los Angeles for over ten years. It's a rather nasty place to live. Smog. Heavy traffic. No public transport. Crime. A strip mall with a nail salon on every corner. The citizens far more concerned with who you are, what you do, and where you live than anywhere else I've ever lived. I returned a year ago and was shocked by how much it had decayed. I could find little redeeming in my experience and was happy as hell to get the hell out. Now, some of the nearby cities aren't too bad. The weather is nice. I no longer have any desire to live there. As for NYC, I only visited. Personally, a concrete jungle is not for me, but if I had to choose, I'd choose NYC for its amazing variety activities, restaurants, and cultures.
