City smackdown: Los Angeles love |
Yes, Los Angeles does have a subway system.
Folks, did you know that Los Angeles has a subway system? Not only a subway system, but a large bus system as well. I think its important to note that the LA Metro system is the "nations largest clean air fleet". That quote is written on every Metro bus that you see in LA.
Our subway system is new and expanding. So far it covers Downtown LA, the southern part of the San Fernando Valley, Hollywood, Los Feliz, Koreatown, South LA, East LA, Norwalk, the South Bay, Culver City, Pasadena, and Long Beach. Within a few years it will go to Santa Monica!
Kudos to Los Angeles for placing an emphasis on public transportation. I hardly drive my car these days as I take the Metro and live in the very walkable neighborhood of Los Feliz.. I can walk to the library and grocery store, I can hike up to Griffith Park, and if I want to check out a concert at the Walt Disney Concert Hall, I hop on the subway to downtown. Add perfect weather all year long, and you live in paradise. I love LA!
