Grab your Super Hero Friends and head to the Theater! Avengers Opens Tonight!
• Iron Man 2008
• The Incredible Hulk 2008
• Iron Man 2 2010
• Thor 2011
• Captain America 2011
All of these movies can standalone by themselves, but what I fully appreciated was you get to know each of the principal characters in The Avengers years before the movie was even produced. This was a genius marketing campaign to get interest in the market, and to have customers exposed to the series who may not have had an interest. Again I had never read the comics, but I grew to know who Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr), Black Widow, (Scarlett Johansson), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), and Loki (Tom Hiddleston) are.
Josh Whedon, director, is famous for creating and writing several notable Sci-Fi T.V. shows and movies, such as Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and my personal favorite is the Firefly series which was briefly on T.V 2002-2003 season, and spun the cult classic movie Serenity, which was released in 2005. He just released The Cabin in the Woods in April which got praise for being smarter than the normal slasher flick.
The Avengers, led by agent Nick Furry, director of a secret organization called S.H.I.E.L.D. Furry helps put a group of super humans together in order to save the world from Thor’s younger brother Loki (Tom Hiddleston). Who comes into our world, and takes over several members of S.H.I.E.L.D ‘s minds. Thor, Iron Man, Black Widow, Captain America (Chris Evans) and the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) must ban together to fight Loki before he takes over the world.
Several Movie Theaters in my area have unique offers for the Midnight showing of The Avengers. I would recommend that anyone going to midnight shows check the website or Facebook pages to see what deals they may receive for dressing up as characters.
