    Britania Groups of Islets

There’s more to Surigao del Sur than mineral mine sites. Situated in Lianga Bay, specifically in Barangay San Agustin, are a group of tiny islands collectively known as the Britania Group of Islets. These islets have already been visited by plenty of tourists for its picturesque landscape, pristine waters and powdery white sand.

The Britania Group of Islets has been recognized as a tourist spot in Caraga Region and is considered ideal for swimming, snorkeling, island hopping, kayaking, and island picnics. Getting around the place is made easier by the presence of pump boats for hire and these are manned by very hospitable and knowledgeable boatmen who will also serve as tour guides. Lush vegetation of mangroves surrounds the islets where one can do sightseeing.

San Agustin prides itself on being one of the few places that still have virgin islets and well-preserved reef areas. Truly, these natural wonders are worth a visit.
