    Old religion,old sign.

The Quakers... Founded in the 17th century by George Fox I was working out of a mine east of the city yesterday. As I pulled up to a traffic light I just happened to spot this sign. As you see its been there awhile.
The Quakers, or The religious society of Friends as often called have roots to Christianity.(Evangelical) However they don't believe in baptism, communion,Christmas or Easter, Their services are programmed or un programmed. Meaning that programmed services they have a pastor. The un programmed ones have no religious leader and quite often is conducted in silence. The programmed ones have readings and singing.
The Quakers are against slavery, racism, and support women's rights and prison reform. They do not like materialism either. And prefer the simple way of life. Pacifism!!!
At the time of George Fox's death in 1691 there were 50,000 members.
