    Gigil Tart

A modern fusion on native offerings. This is a new dessert creation by LJC Chef George Lizares which has an interesting taste combination of salted eggs (preserved fresh eggs in a damp salted clay mix) and buko (youmg coconut). Salted eggs are usually eaten as a salad or side dish in combination with onions and tomatoes, and even better with green sour mangoes.

When used as part of a sweet dish, it results in a unique but appealing flavor. Though it may not be a traditional dish, the taste is unmistakeably Filipino. "Gigil" is tagalog term for an "uncontrollable urge".
