    Winter wonderland

    We woke up to winter this morning in May. The snow is falling very heavily now on the trees with new leaves bending under their weight. We should have a foot by noon and a heavy frost tonight. Then 22 above next week.
    A land of contradictions this high plains city near the Rocky Mountains. A climate as strange and changeable as Mongolia or Siberia. Some years I have seen snow in every month.
