    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     AdamAllegro is an active duty Naval Officer living and serving in Naples, Italy. As an amateur photographer, he noticed immediately how much bigger the moon appeared through his zoom lens than it would normally. He says 'it was spectacular to see the moon at this size.'

    The biggest and brightest moon of 2012 as seen from Naples, Italy. These shots were taken from my balcony in the seaside city of Bacoli and show at a rising moon over the Amalfi Coast, just north of the quaint tourist town of Sorrento. http://catchthejiffy.com.
