    Cinco de Mayo Parade

    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     RVCFOTO says a highlight of the New York City's Cinco de Mayo parade was all the colorful and elaborate costumes, as well as the dance groups. She says the parade was actually a bit small, but it remained festive. 'I loved the amazing costumes of the Chinelos, so much detail and workmanship,' she says.

    Mexico’s Cinco de Mayo Parade took place on the Upper West Side of Manhattan this Sunday from 100thst. to 97th st. Although not as large as other parades in NYC this was just as festive and colorful.

    Celebration of dance, music and culture with Mariachi band and singers took part in the parade along with Folkloric dancers from the Ballet Espiritu of Mexico and Ballet Quetzalcoatl of Sunset Park in Brooklyn performed to typical Mexican music.

    Men, women and children wore elaborate costumes as part of the Tecuanes de San Martin, Carnaval de Tlaxcala and Chinelos de Morelos who where the last group to perform.
