    Did Obama say "Troops were Coming Home"?

    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     DaElmersBack shot these photos and video of members of the Michigan National Guard readying for deployment to Afghanistan on May 4. 'I am a member of the Michigan Patriot Guard Riders, we were invited to stand a flag line and to escort them to the bridge. I drove the 200 miles with them part of the time in front, the other half in back of the group. Very somber moments along the way as children were standing near their schools holding flags and waving,' he said. 'We have been [in Afghanistan] too long, it's time to come home now.'

    On May 4, 2012 a group of soldiers left Kingsford, Michigan to meet up with another Michigan unit before heading to Afghanistan for a 1 year deployment. This was DAYS after I heard Obama say he was bringing them home. It is a hard idea to grasp when I see these soldiers heading over there this week for the next year.

     

    How many more soldiers must we send BEFORE bringing them all home safe and sound. This group is all Michigan National Guard, the 1432 Engineer Company. I also wonder why we are depending on our National Guard when it is our military's job? Our National Guard SHOULD be protecting this country while our military troops are away.. Our National Guard should be protecting our borders and capitals, not over-seas..
