A boy named Sue.....or Garth
I was the middle with 2 older brothers and 2 younger sisters and all 4 with very Midwestern mainstream farm names. Mom said my name came from the author of a book she was reading at the time of my birth. However, I never found out who it was. The teasing through school didn't help my awkward shyness any and there were times when I withdrew into a kind of a 'Walter Mitty' existence. I started taking dance lessons because a friend made me and over time became a country dance instructor. Thanks to a country star from Oklahoma, the teasing and disbelief made life difficult. Our last names are 2 letters different. Because of all this I think my name gave me the determination to prove myself to me and others and have been a respected dance instructor and award winning choreographer for the past 23 years.
