IT GETS BETTER FOR THE UNEMPLOYED

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     dpkronmiller shared this inspirational video, based on the "It Gets Better" LGBTQ advocacy campaign, describing his experience with unemployment and encouraging fellow unemployed Americans not to lose hope. 'It does get better, and those attempts to find work will eventually add up to something – something potentially great,' he said. If you've been unemployed and now have a job, take dpkronmiller's challenge and share your recovery story here.
    - jmsaba, CNN iReport producer

I've gotten tired of hearing the politicians and the pundits tell those of us who have been or are unemployed how bad it is, how bleak it is.

There is no way we can fully recover if we never look at solutions and only look at the struggle.

I was unemployed for over a year at one point and now, what seems like a very short time later, I am employed and frankly thriving. My wife and I are finally getting back on our feet.

So I thought it might be a good idea, after hearing someone suggest as much on the radio the other day, to post an "It Gets Better" video for the unemployed - to help them see the options and paths to recovery that many of us have found. After all if you only hear what doesn't work how will you ever know what will work?

I hope others post similar videos - sharing their stories, their tips and hints on how to overcome being unemployed.
