This iReport is part of an assignment:
Your most inspirational teacher
High school English teacher
Oh yes, indeed!
I do have a fav teacher.
I am out of high school, graduated in Italy in 2003.
Laura was my English teacher.
I perfectly remember the first English test we did, I was 14 and I wanted to become an interpreter so badly!
The test was a mess and Laura gave me a bad mark (of course!).
I was so disappointed, I felt so depressed and I was sure I would never succeed.
As the time passed, Laura started teaching what turned out to be my lifelong love: English.
I remember every class, I remember her being so modern, so technological (I mean, for Italian high school back in 1998 standards!), she used computers, she performed interactive lessons and lectures, she was simply inspirational.
I couldn't wait for her classes to begin and I sucked every word she said.
She made me love English literature, we studied Shakespeare, dear Virginia Wolf, the sisters Bronte... I cannot write all the names because they will fill the entire space.
We did creative writing and she tought us how to think with our own minds and be creative.
I felt passionate and I felt, deep inside, that my path in life was learning English.
And being creative.
Laura and me are still in close contact (after 14 years!!!) and we participate to cultural activities together. It's such a great thing.
thank you, Laura.
(I want to say that I used Tim Burton's picture because that amazing heart represents how I felt when writing this iReport.... intense passion)
