Same-sex marriage: Civil right vs. states' rights

    US Government is NOT God

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     MelissaF says although same-sex marriage is against her personal beliefs she believes President Obama made the right decision on taking a stance. 'I think it's a step in the right direction and he's moving this country in forward thinking. I think he has finally come out of his closet,' she says. Through the course of the same-sex marriage conversation, she says she has seen many Evangelical Christians expressing unhappiness over same-sex marriage. She believes those who are religiously conservative have a right to their opinion. 'But the US has separation of church and state. Same-sex marriage is a legal matter, not a religious one,' she says.
    - Jareen, CNN iReport producer

My personal belief and my faith says that marriage is between a man and a woman, but I am not your judge. Only God is your judge. The US government can not judge you for who you love or who you want to commit the rest of your life to.

I applaud President Barack Obama for coming out of his closet for gay marriage.
