CNN PRODUCER NOTE     anne226 interviewed her sons about what their thoughts were on same-sex marriage. She says that she and her partner moved their family to Canada because of the discrimination that they faced while living in the United States. After their move to Canada she says their life transformed in many ways for the better. 'It is a different world in every aspect of our lives - from doctor visits to plays dates,' she says. She says she was surprised that President Obama took such a bold stance on same-sex marriage. 'When we found out Obama supported same sex marriage I cried,' she says.' She says that the laws in the United States need to change in order for people to form more positive perceptions about same-sex marriage. 'I think if it is by a public vote, same-sex marriage will not pass. Mainly because people don't know a lot about same-sex marriage, and they don't realize our lives are just like theirs,' she says.
