2012 Heart Walk in Wausau Wisconsin
The Wausau Heart Walk took place Saturday in our town. The event started at 8:00am and was great to see so many people attend. Cheryl Fahrner, Corporate Events Director, shared with us that over 850 people participated in the walk. That’s a lot of people for this small town. It started with the Pledge of Allegiance, the Nation Anthem, and a warm up. There was a 1-mile and 3-mile walk.
Heart disease survivors were given a special red cap and pin. Past walks Bobbi and I have attended. This year things were different; I had one of the red caps on. Last July began 10 hospitalizations, eight surgeries, and 10-months of rehabilitation. Battling micro vascular disease with open-heart bypass surgery (x5), and receiving nineteen stents placed directly into my heart. I finished rehab after crossing the finish line.
Thanks for the view!
