Gay Marriage: The Right Side of History

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     brixton was inspired to draw this comic by the recent national debate over same-sex marriage. 'I think states that are foolish enough to outlaw gay marriage will quickly reverse course,' he said. 'The untold story in North Carolina is that they not only canned same-sex marriage but civil unions as well – far more heterosexuals have been denied their freedoms.'
    - jmsaba, CNN iReport producer

Abolition, suffrage, civll rights, women's rights, handicap rights- all and much more were vehemently opposed by those on the wrong side of history. Barack Obama has put himself on the right side of history regarding marriage rights for all Americans. There's a long way to go, but hearing an affirmation from the leader of the free world is an important beginning.
