Tim Burton and Johnny Depp Team up again in this horror comedy from Warner Bros Pictures. The film is based on the TV soap opera from the 60's and 70's that was created by Dan Curtis.

We liked this movie more than we wanted to. Roberta and I are not fans of 'scary' movies or vampires, but this film is not that scary. But it was surprisingly funny - especially if you are a child of the 70's.

And it works well as period piece as well. Burton has the 70's down to a tee - from the lava lamps to the cars, from the hippies to the pot.

Mr Depp is excellent as the 200 year old vampire, who battles his nemesis, a witch that cursed him years ago. The character reminded me of his 'Edward Scissorhands' movie - also with Tim Burton.

The film could not overcome 'The Avengers' though - It made an OK $28.8M, but last weeks champ broke more records this weekend with $103M more.
