Japanese trawler stranded on Clifton beach

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     seankaliski shot these photos on May 15 of a Japanese fishing trawler, the Eihatsu Maru, run aground on the beaches of Cape Town, South Africa. 'Currently the tug boat is attached to the trawler by a line to prevent the boat riding up further onto the beach,' he said. 'The salvage experts are confident that the boat will eventually be towed off.'
    - jmsaba, CNN iReport producer

On Saturday 12 May a Japanese trawler lost its way in heavy mist and ran aground on Cape Town's premier
Clifton beach. Attempts to tow it off the sandback have failed and there are now fears that it may break up and pollute these beautiful beaches. And all of Japan will starve for lack of the fish in its freezers
