    Carlos Fuentes firmó mi libro Gringo Viejo en una visita al Tec de Monterrey cuando yo estudiaba Letras Españolas. Dice: "Para mi amiga Marcela" -

     

    Su obra fue para mí gran inspiración por su hermosa y acertada perspectiva sobre el drama del inmigrante mexicano que después de cruzar la frontera  queda como un ser atrapado entre dos mundos, no es de aquí ni de allá, y vive sus días intentado sin éxito encajar en una nueva cultura que no le hace feliz y con miedo a retomar sus raíces que lo etiquetan de manera negativa.  Mi libro favorito: " La Frontera de Cristal."
