What have we learned from governor's high approval ratings?

The Republicans are touting Gov. Palin's 80% approval ratings as governor in Alaska, but what have we learned about high approval ratings with governors? George W. Bush carried a 75% approval rating in Texas.

    80% of Alaska = 536,000 people

    75% of Texas  = 17,250,000 people
