Living without Facebook? |
Tech Blogger (and IT Director) Lives Without Facebook
Allow me to explain how a tech blogger like me could possibly survive without Facebook in his life. It's simple really. I don't have an active Facebook account because I don't need one. There's something exciting, and satisfying, about going against the grain. I'm not one to be somewhere or do something just because everyone else is. I'm not anti-social networking. I'm on Twitter, LinkedIn and Google+. I even have a high enough Klout score to get free perks (without a linked Facebook account). Maybe someday I'll create a Facebook page for DailyTekk, who knows, but for now the site is rolling along fine without a presence there (just as my life rolls along fine without a personal FB page). I have, however, integrated Facebook's like button into the site for Facebook users who want to easily share content that way (and many do).
I connect with friends and family the old school way, via phone calls, email, text messaging and seeing them in person.
