    Gladiator Rages:Crown King Evacuated

The Gladiator fire in northern Arizona has now grown to over 2000 acres and continues to threaten the entire town of Crown King.

The Red Cross has set up a shelter for the people of Crown King yet many continue to stay with their homes. The town could be in the bulls eye of the blaze. One shift in the wind and the entire town could be at risk.

Smoke and flames can be seen from miles away and the combination of wind and extreme heat have made for exhausting conditions for fire fighters. At this point the fire is only about 4% contained.

A town meeting is set for Crown King residents and fire officials at 6:30 this evening at the command center set up at Mayer High school located in Spring Valley.

So far two homes have been lost and at least 2000 acres have burned in the fire.
