This iReport is part of an assignment:
Living without Facebook? |
Been there, done that (well, kind of)
A lot of people are surprised when I tell them I am not on Facebook, and have asked me repeatedly to join, but until phone numbers and e-mail addresses go away, I probably won't. Moreover, I don't really think there has been any real change in my social life and relationships with others by not being on Facebook. I tend to believe that, while Facebook might be a good tool to help establish new relationships, the maintenance required still needs to involve interaction in which all participating members are physically together in a group setting.
Finally, as I had been in the IT field and got burned out on it, I try to limit my computer time, and I've heard too many stories of how people have gotten sucked into Facebook to want to even entertain the idea.
