WHAT HAPPENS IF OBAMA LOOSES??
For several weeks it appeared that Mr. Obama was gaining momemtun and that combined with his oratorical skills and the unpopular Bush government there was a feeling in the land that he might just be a shoe in. Democrats were genuinely excited at the prospect and the DNC seemed to represent the peak for those expectations.
Then came the RNC. Mr. McCain looked pretty good and Sarah Palin was both a very surprising choice and a very strong voice questioning the very foundation that Mr. Obama built his support on. The war in Iraq is the big one and Bush appears to be winning it finally. Suddenly at the very least we had a contest again and some people began to pause and rethink things out.
Both candidates are very good but the question is who is the best and that will be determined when people vote election day.
So today's question is what happens if Mr. Obama looses? (He may win we don't know at this point)
I think these things will happen:
1. Mrs. Clinton will say "I told you so" because actually she did. She will then run in the next election
2. The black voter will feel very resentful understandably so
3. The Democrats will feel very bitter especially Hillary supporters
4. President McCain will appoint Senator Obama to a goverment position as a sign of good faith and as an attempt to heal the wounds caused by the election
Of course this question will not apply if Mr. Obama wins but if he doesn't win what do you think might happen? I have no favorites in this race and feel both are good candidates and am just observing from my safe perch up here in Canada (to the North of you)
