Arizona Wildfires: The people who are saving our forest.

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     APizm spoke to a few different fire personnel working to battle the raging wildfires that are still continuing in Sunflower, Arizona. Many fire personnel explained that the wildfires are related to the current weather conditions. Currently, Arizona is facing strong winds, which are making the fires far worse, he says. However, he says he has see less open flames from the past few days. Although the flames are mitigated for now he keeps thinking about what has perished due to the fires. 'I have been camping in the same area as the wildfire for over 25 years and I know there are old historic mine structures back there that I can't help but think are gone now forever. Old, historic mining towns are a huge part of Arizona history, it saddens me to think that we have lost one to this fire,' he says. You can see more of his photography at his website apizm.com.

With three separate wildfires growing in Arizona its easy to see and think of the awful devastation that is burning, right now, in our states unique national forests. But that's not the only story going on in our forests.
As I headed up to the Sunflower wildfire, just south of Payson, I could not help but notice all the fire personnel involved in the fight to save our forests. I met some really incredibly nice people that are working hard to save the land that we all grew up in camping and hiking. There are over 1,500 individuals relentlessly working in the wildfires to save our state. Here are a few photos of the fire personnel working hard at the Sunflower wildfire.
