CNN PRODUCER NOTE jwork09 says he and his children were walking through downtown Thurmont, Maryland when they came across a group of protesters in the downtown square area. He says there were approximately 150 protesters and a majority of them were Ethiopian immigrants protesting their dissatisfaction with the U.S. government's involvement with the Ethiopian president. They were also protesting against the Ethiopian president's treatment of his people. He says the protesters organized this demonstration in light of the G8 summit that is currently being held nearby in Camp David. 'They said they were trying to bring awareness to what is going on in Ethiopia,' he says.
