    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     markpel says emotions ran high on May 19, 2012 as protesters in Berlin gathered to demonstrate against Syria's president Bashar al-Assad and his regime. He says many protesters demanded an end to the killing of civilians in Syria, 'they said that al-Assad's troops have killed more than 10,000 Syrians,' he says. He estimates that close to 300 people gathered to demonstrate in Berlin's Breitscheidplatz Square.
