    Rebuilding Joplin with LEGOs

    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     ztusinger1 says the Third Thursday is a monthly art walk and street fair in downtown Joplin, Missouri. He explains that sometimes they have themes, and for this past Third Thursday the theme was "Rebuild Joplin." He says the St. John's hospital, which was built by a child with Lego’s during the art walk, is an iconic building that was impacted by the tornado that hit the city. 'One child built it because he was inside the hospital when it was hit by the tornado.' He says the Lego’s were a great way for children to express themselves. 'So much of the recovery effort is an "adults-only" task,' he says. 'It was nice to be able to find a way let them join in.'

    Recently kids in Joplin got a chance to 'Rebuild Joplin' with donated LEGOs. Kids who attended the city's Third Thursday were encouraged to build buildings to add to a LEGO city. Many children chose to build St. John's Hospital.
