Bee Gees Robin Gibb Is In Disco Heaven

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     iReporter TheVideoMan shared his memories Robin Gibb, one of three brothers who made up the disco group The Bee Gees. You can read more about Gibb's legacy on CNN.com.
    - katie, CNN iReport producer

Robin Gibb, one of the three Bee Gees whose beautiful harmonies were behind such hits as "Staying Alive" and "I Started A Joke" and help define the flashy disco era died Sunday of cancer. Mr Gibb was 62 years old.

The name Bee Gees was actually short for 'Brothers Gibb'.

They had two careers actually: The first, from the 60's to the early 70's, consisted of love ballads that spoke of hurt and troubled relationships. The second, and most famous, was a 'Disco Comeback' in the mid 70's thru about 1980.

The early years, when I lived in Valdosta, Georgia, were my favorite. The love songs had me dreaming of fast cars and woman at a young age.

I saw the Bee Gees in concert at Dodger Stadium in 1979. Over 80,000 fans filled the massive 'dance party' show...The world's biggest Disco!

So now Robin Gibb joins Donna Summer In Disco Heaven. The dance floor from our generation up there is getting full now. We are starting to feel old...

But the legacy will live on with the music...somewhere in the world right now, a night club is playing a Bee Gees song...

Thanks for the memories Robin... Rock On!
