    Harvey Milk Street Unveiling Ceremony

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     AntAntoine shot this video of a May 22 ceremony in San Diego christening Blaine Avenue "Harvey Milk Street," in memory of the first openly gay man elected to public office in San Francisco. 'The climate is now to see the dreams of Harvey Milk fulfilled. It's the same year that our first sitting President of the United States has publicly shifted his position to support gay marriage,' he said. 'It took a lot to make this happen, and it shows the community and the nation that Harvey Milk should be honored for his leadership in the [LGBT] movement towards freedom and equality in ways we honor other civil rights leaders including Martin Luther King, Jr.'
    - jmsaba, CNN iReport producer

San Diego has just become the first city in the nation to honor civil rights leader Harvey Milk with a street in his name. On Harvey's 82nd birthday, the moving ceremony unfolded in front of San Diego's LGBT Center. It was attended by many of San Diego's political figures including Harvey's nephew Stuart Milk - founder of the Harvey B. Milk Foundation. In this video is the actual unveiling lead by Delores Jacobs - the CEO of The LGBT Community Center.
