    Egyptians vote in the first presidential elections after Mubarak's ouster

    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     arasquare shot these photos of voting lines in Cairo for the May 23 Egyptian presidential election, the first such election since last year's revolution. 'There is a general feeling of optimism and that the country is moving to a brighter future. I saw hope in the eyes of the voters. It's the first time they get to choose among different candidates and it's the first time they don't know the results in advance,' he said. 'People want to see a president who feels their suffering and can deliver change. People want to see a new country that is built on justice and equality. People are waiting for development plans that can lift the country from its economic malaise.'

    Egyptians queued in front of the polling stations since the early hours in the morning. For the first time Egyptians have the chance to choose among different candidates. There is a strong security presence whether from the police or the army. The weather is very hot today but that didn't prevent Egyptians from all ages and genders to participate in the elections.. 50 million people are eligible to vote.
