    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     tontow says he started gardening at the age of three. "My grandfather was my biggest inspiration. He was a great outdoorsman and a keen gardener. I spent a lot of time with him when I was young, and I guess some of it rubbed off." His passion extends beyond the garden and into the kitchen, too. "Taking stuff from plot to plate is just fantastic. You can't beat sweetcorn, picked and then cooked within minutes, served with butter melted over the top."

    After weeks of near continuous rain, the sun is finally out temperatures are in the high 20°'s and everything on the allotment is growing fast.

     

    A few more weeks and these broad beans will be ready to harvest.
