    Buddha's Birthday Celebration

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Anthony says captured this photo as monks in South Korea were hanging lanterns in celebration of Buddha's birthday. He says the birthday was celebrated with prayers, jubilant merriment, music, food and lighting the lanterns. 'The colorful lanterns represent the lotus flower which in Buddhism symbolizes the purity of the body, speech and mind as while rooted in mud. Its beautiful flowers bloom on long stalks as if they were floating above the muddied waters of worldly attachment and desire,' he says.
    - Jareen, CNN iReport producer

In celebration of Buddha's birthday, colorful paper lanterns adorn the yard and streets surrounding a Buddhist temple on Monday, May 28, 2012 near Daegu, South Korea.
