Real Women Respond to the Time Magazine Breastfeeding Cover
- davidw, CNN iReport producer
Women are still buzzing about Time Magazine's recent breastfeeding cover image and headline.
Have you been part of those conversations? Are you curious what they are saying?
Last week, I was invited to film an insightful and thought-provoking round table discussion on the topic in Vancouver, at the Lunapads office. Madeleine Shaw and Suzanne Siemens -- Lunapads' Founders -- actively blog on hot topics related to women and parenting, and they also like to organize gatherings of friends and colleagues for lively discussions. This video includes highlights from their conversation about the Time Magazine cover and the issues it raises. In this particular discussion, the women offer their varying views on the topic and table many interesting points, including the risk of future bullying and the need to demand more from our media. The last 2 minutes of the video, Kim Anami talks about her experience attachment parenting her son, who is now 17, and how it has influenced him as a person.

So, there is a lot more to be said on this topic, including more about the individual experiences of the women at the round table. Get in on their conversation via twitter! And, later in the week, Lunapads will be posting an extended version of the conversation on its Youtube account: http://www.youtube.com/lunapadsvideos
