We got married in a state that did not accept civil unions or marriages. But we strongly believed the country eventually would catch up with what I call human dignity and so we got married in Miami May 20, 2006.
We had about 85 family and friends and the marriage was help at the Doubletree Surfcomber on the beach. It was a 4 day event that started Wednesday and concluded Sunday! People still talk about how fascinating the wedding was. We had people that were staying at the hotel that asked if they could come to the wedding.
We left a positive impression for the family, our kids and people around us.
